Tour Description
In Honolulu, there is always a lot to do. The capital of the State of Hawaii is bustling with activity and contains the most visited location in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor. What if history is not quite your “thing,” but you still want to see the most important attraction in Hawaii? We have the perfect answer for you with the Arizona Memorial and Oahu North Shore Horseback Riding Tour. If you are staying in Waikiki, flying to Oahu from another Island for the day, or arriving on one of the many cruise ships that visit Honolulu, you should not miss this tour. You get to see the Arizona Memorial with the included ticket. (Please see our notice regarding Arizona Memorial tickets.) No need to deal with having to reserve the Pearl Harbor tickets in advance, and then find your way to Pearl Harbor on your own. We will pick you up in a clean minivan with a professional driver/guide who is fluent in English. Once at Pearl Harbor, you will be oriented. The Pearl Harbor Visitor’s Center is home to two museums, “Road to War ” and “Attack.” These museums will provide you with background information regarding the events that led to the attack on Pearl Harbor, as well as details about the attack itself. You will get to see the short 23-minute film about the attack on Pearl Harbor featuring film footage taken during the attack. Take the U.S. Navy shuttle to the Arizona Memorial, which is the resting place for 1,177 American Sailors and Marines who died during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Once you are done with the Arizona Memorial it will be time to move on to horseback riding. We will head to Oahu’s North Shore where the horseback tour will take place. With the help of a professional guide, you will get to ride on a horse. The tour will take you past open farmland and down a scenic North Shore ocean-view riding trail with breathtaking views of the coastline. it is quite a thing to take in the view from the back of a horse, much like the Paniolo or the Hawaiian Cowboys would have done in times past. On the way back to your drop-off location, you will be taken on a short drive-through tour of Downtown Honolulu. You get to see the famous golden statue of the first true ruler of Hawaii, King Kamehameha the Great. View the famous Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace on American soil. See Washington Place, the historic home of Hawaii’s Governors and the former home of Hawaii’s last Queen, Queen Liliuokalani. View the unique architecture of the Hawaii State Capitol building. We will also take you on a drive-through of Punchbowl Cemetery, the well-known final resting place of many U.S. service members from WWI to the present.

Here Are Some Points Of Interest That You Will See On Your Tour:
Arizona Memorial Boat Ride
Once you leave the theater, you will be directed down a ramp to get to the boat dock. The only way to get to the Arizona Memorial Monument is by boat. Two shuttle boats rotate between the Visitor’s Center and Arizona Memorial every 15 minutes. While the National Park Service manages the Visitor’s Center and Arizona Memorial, the US Navy operates the shuttle boats. Every day, the Navy supplies the boats and sailors that shuttle the visitors to and from the USS Arizona Memorial.
Lone Sailor
The statue known as “the Lone Sailor” is a tribute to all personnel in the sea services past, present, and future. This statue was sculpted by Stanley Bleifeld using a real sailor, PO1 Dan Maloney as the model. The initials and last name on the sea bag belong to Rear Admiral William Thompson, the first president of the Navy Memorial Foundation. The foundation raised funds for the creation of the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. The bronze used for the original sculpture is said to have had several historical artifacts added to it during the smelting process.
Iolani Palace
Iolani Palace was constructed in 1882 under the order of King David Kalakaua. By 1887, Iolani Palace had been furnished with electricity and a phone line. The palace served as the official residence of the Kings and Queens of the Kingdom of Hawaii until the last monarch, Queen Liliuokalani, was overthrown in 1891. The building then served as the capital building of Hawaii until 1969. Iolani Palace has since been restored and is accessible to the public with reservations.
Punchbowl
Called the “Arlington of the Pacific,” the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, also known as Punchbowl cemetery was founded in 1949. The Cemetery contains over 61,000 graves. The cemetery is the final resting place for Veterans from WWI to today and their families. There are still a number of graves from WWII and the Korean War marked as Unknown. The central memorial is dedicated to those soldiers and sailors who are Missing in Action, unrecovered, or who were buried at sea. The most famous feature of that memorial is the sculpture of Lady Columbia which was featured in both versions of Hawaii Five-O.
