Pearl Harbor National Memorial is like no other destination in the United States; located on a World War II battlefield, serving as a strategic naval base for the United States pacific fleet, it is here during the Japanese Dec 7, 1941, sneak attack that our country lost 2,008 sailors, 218 army soldiers, and 109 Marines. In addition, the wounded included 1,178 service members and civilians that worked at Pearl Harbor. Of the 130 ships docked within the Harbor, 21 were severely damaged or sunk, and three of our Battleships were a total loss, the Arizona Battleship, USS Oklahoma battleship, and the USS Utah battleship.
