Pearl Harbor Visitor Center gets about 2 million visitors annually, which is not as large of attendance as many of the National Parks on the mainland. However, the USS Arizona Memorial is an icon for our Nation and makes the destination an essential player among their top Parks.
At Pearl Harbor, the National Park Service is led by its Superintendent, who reports to its regional headquarters and the Admiral at Pearl Harbor. It’s not an easy job; the position is rotated every 3 to 4 years. On staff are the following department heads; Administration, Interpretation, Education, Historian, Maintenance, and Law Enforcement. Since the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center is open 362 days a year, ample personnel are needed to staff the front desk, theaters, Memorial, security, and maintenance; there is never a dull moment for the management at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center.
One of the great things about the National Park Service is that they are focused on customer service, and there are rarely any complaints. If there is a complaint, they solve it immediately; the last thing Park Rangers want is for the complaint to go to their regional office. If it involves one of the Pearl Harbor Historic Site partners, they want them to solve the issue to the customer’s satisfaction immediately.
