Tour Highlights

Tour Description

For visitors on Oahu, there is no shortage of activities to participate in and sights to see. Your vacation time is important; why waste it? If you want a convenient tour that will pick you up privately and take you to Pearl Harbor, allowing you to skip the need to take a large bus tour and all the hassles that come with it, we have a great tour option for you. The Complete Pearl Harbor Experience and a short Honolulu City tour is just the tour for you. Instead of a group tour in a bus with around 20-60 people, why not ride to Pearl Harbor in a clean, comfortable, air-conditioned minivan that will privately take you directly to Pearl Harbor? Our professional, chauffeur, who speaks fluent English, will take you to Pearl Harbor. Once you have arrived at the Pearl Harbor Visitors Center, our chauffeur will take you inside and give you an orientation and provide you with the tickets for your tour. With this tour, there is no need to get up before the sun rises to stand in line with thousands of other people to see if you can get a ticket for the Arizona Memorial. We have reserved an Arizona Memorial ticket for you in advance which we have included for you in this tour (please read our disclaimer about the USS Arizona Memorial ticket). Meaning you will not need to worry about your Pearl Harbor ticket. The Complete Pearl Harbor Experience and a short Honolulu City tour is a full-day tour (about eight hours). This full-day Pearl Harbor Tour operates only from Waikiki Beach hotels. This private Pearl Harbor tour is recognized as one of our best Pearl Harbor Tours and also Oahu Tours.

This Pearl Harbor Tour is our most extended and complete tour. This tour takes you from Waikiki to the historic location of Pearl Harbor, the most visited attraction in Hawaii. This tour is the perfect choice for those who want to spend the day taking in all of the publicly available attractions that Pearl Harbor has to offer. You will be taken to the Pearl Harbor Visitor’s Center and see the two museums, “Road to War ” and “Attack”, detailing the cause of the attack as well as details on the attack itself. See the 23-minute film on the attack featuring footage taken during the attack itself. Take the Navy shuttle boat to the Arizona Memorial. See the submarine USS Bowfin, a submarine that fought in WWII, sinking 43 enemy ships. Then, pay a visit to the Bowfin Submarine Museum to learn about the pivotal role that submarines played in the Allied victory in WWII. Take the shuttle bus to Ford Island to see the battleship USS Missouri, one of the most powerful battleships ever built. The battleship USS Missouri, “Mighty MO”, was where the Japanese signed the instruments of surrender at the war’s end. Visit the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, America’s only aerial battlefield. The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum possesses various aircraft on display ranging from WWII to today. See the battle damage still left on the hangar from the attack on December 7, 1941. On the way back to Waikiki, you will be taken on a short drive-through tour of Downtown Honolulu. You get to see the famous golden statue of Hawaii’s legendary monarch, King Kamehameha the Great. View the famous Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace on American soil. See the historic Washington Place, the historic home of Hawaii’s Governors. View the unique architecture of the Hawaii State Capital building. We will also take you on a drive-through of Punchbowl Cemetery, the final resting place of many U.S. service members from WWI to the present.

Here Are Some Points Of Interest That You Will See On Your Tour:

Lone Sailor

The statue known as “the Lone Sailor” is a tribute to all personnel in the sea services past, present, and future. This statue was sculpted by Stanley Bleifeld using a real sailor, PO1 Dan Maloney as the model. The initials and last name on the sea bag belong to Rear Admiral William Thompson, the first president of the Navy Memorial Foundation. The foundation raised funds for the creation of the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. The bronze used for the original sculpture is said to have had several historical artifacts added to it during the smelting process.

Arizona Memorial

When you arrive at the Arizona Memorial, walk to the ramp from the boat dock and enter the Arizona Memorial. There is a limited time on the Memorial, and people will move from the entrance to the far end of the Memorial. On the way to the far side, take some time to look at the Battleship Missouri, which is docked near the Arizona Memorial. Some portions of the ship are still visible above water. These are parts of the superstructure, the remains of the number 2 turret, and the number 3 turret barbette. You may notice an orange buoy to either side of the Memorial; these denote the bow and stern of the ship.

Submarine Memorial Circle

Right on the water near the USS Bowfin is the Submarine Memorial Circle. The circle is comprised of 52 stone, and metal memorial plaques, one for each of the 52 US Navy submarines lost in WWII. Detailed on each plaque are the name of the submarine, the cause of her loss, if known, and a list of the sailors who were lost with their boat. It is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by those who served in the “Silent Service” during the war. From the memorial, you can also get a good picture of the side of the USS Bowfin.

USS Oklahoma

The USS Oklahoma (B-37) was a Nevada-Class battleship commissioned on May 2, 1916. She was at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. During the Japanese attack, she received up to 8 torpedo hits. She capsized, almost rolling completely over. This trapped many of her crew who were below decks underwater. A desperate rescue operation was launched to save as many of her crew as possible. In all, 429 officers and enlisted men out of a crew of 1,398 died in the attack. Her losses comprise the second-largest loss of life in the attack after 1,177 were killed when the USS Arizona exploded.
