Tour Highlights

Tour Description

For visitors to the Island of Oahu, there is no shortage of activities to participate in and sights to see. Your vacation time is important; why waste it? If you are someone who values their time and wants to cover as much as possible, we have an excellent tour for you. Our Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial Monument, and Oahu circle island tour is perfect for those wanting to cover as much of Oahu as possible. Now, such a large tour in a bus full of 20-60 people can become very uncomfortable. Our private tour offers a solution for you. Instead of a group tour in a bus with around 20-60 people, why not ride to Pearl Harbor and then go on the Circle Island tour in a clean, comfortable, air-conditioned minivan that will privately take you on the tour? Our professional chauffeur, who speaks fluent English, will take you to Pearl Harbor. Once you have arrived at the Pearl Harbor Visitor’s Center, our chauffeur will take you inside and give you an orientation and provide you with the tickets for your tour. With this tour, there is no need to get up before the sun rises to stand in line with thousands of other people to see if you can get a ticket for the Arizona Memorial. We have reserved a ticket for the USS Arizona Memorial, which we have included for you in this tour (please read our disclaimer about the USS Arizona Memorial ticket). Meaning you will not need to worry about an Arizona Memorial ticket.

Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial, and Oahu circle island tour is a full-day tour (about 8-9 hours). This tour departs from Waikiki Beach hotels.

This tour is for people who want to take in the various sights around the Island of Oahu. See many important places on Oahu, including Pearl Harbor, Hawaii’s number one most visited location. The Pearl Harbor Visitors Center is home to two museums, “Road to War ” and “Attack”. These museums will provide you with background information regarding the events that led to the attack on Pearl Harbor, as well as details about the attack itself. Take the U.S. Navy shuttle to the Arizona Memorial, which is the resting place for 1,177 American Sailors and Marines who died during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. This tour is the perfect choice for those who want to spend the day taking in the sights that the Island of Oahu has to offer. Stop to view Chinaman’s hat, an Island resembling a Chinese coolie’s hat. Cruise by the famous surfing beaches on Oahu’s North Shore. Stop to view the famous Sunset Beach. Cruise through scenic Haleiwa Town. Stop at the famous Dole Plantation. The Dole Plantation is Hawaii’s second most visited attraction and home of the famous Dole Whip ice cream. On the way back to Waikiki, you will be taken on a short drive-through tour of Downtown Honolulu. You get to see the famous golden statue of Hawaii’s legendary monarch, King Kamehameha the Great. View the famous Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace on American soil. See the historic Washington Place, the historic home of Hawaii’s Governors. View the unique architecture of the Hawaii State Capitol building. We will also take you on a drive-through of Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery, the final resting place of many U.S. service members from WWI to the present.

Here are some points of Interest that you will see on your tour:

Arizona Memorial

When you arrive at the Arizona Memorial, walk to the ramp from the boat dock and enter the Arizona Memorial. There is a limited time on the Memorial, and people will move from the entrance to the far end of the Memorial. On the way to the far side, take some time to look at the USS Missouri Battleship, which is docked near the Arizona Memorial. Some portions of the ship are still visible above water. These are parts of the superstructure, the remains of the number 2 turret, and the number 3 turret barbette. You may notice an orange buoy to either side of the Memorial; these denote the bow and stern of the ship.

Iolani Palace

Iolani Palace was constructed in 1882 under the order of King David Kalakaua. By 1887, Iolani Palace had been furnished with electricity and a phone line. The palace served as the official residence of the Kings and Queens of the Kingdom of Hawaii until the last monarch, Queen Liliuokalani, was overthrown in 1891. The building then served as the capital building of Hawaii until 1969. Iolani Palace has since been restored and is accessible to the public with reservations. In addition, the Iolani Palace has been featured in both versions of the popular Hawaii-based television show Hawaii Five-O.

Punchbowl

The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is located in Punchbowl crater. Like Arlington Cemetery in Virginia, the Punchbowl Cemetery is a National Cemetery. Most of the people buried there are Veterans and their families. The cemetery was established in 1949 and is the final resting place for veterans of WWI up to today. Notably, the unidentified remains of victims of the Pearl Harbor attack are buried there. Work is ongoing to identify those remains and to either reinter them with a proper burial or return them to their home state. A prominent sculpture named “Lady Columbia ” is a significant feature in the cemetery.

Surfing

The sport we know as surfing has its origins in ancient Hawaii. For the ancient Hawaiians, this was more than just a sport and had spiritual connections. The most skilled surfers tended to be the chiefs. Europeans were first introduced to surfing when Captain Cook arrived in the Islands. Today surfing is a sport beloved by people the world over. While there are many popular surfing spots worldwide, the most famous are in Hawaii. The North Shore of Oahu is a mecca for surfers everywhere who come for the chance to ride the waves at places like Sunset Beach or the famous “Banzai Pipeline.”
