Tour Description
With all of the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki in particular it is good to take a break and have a nice relaxing tour of Oahu’s beautiful North Shore. Even if you are flying in for the day, or are coming off of a ship, it is still nice to see the slower side of Oahu. You will be picked up from Waikiki, Honolulu Port, or Honolulu Airport in a nice clean minivan, with a professional driver/tour guide, spend a few hours away from it all and enjoy the quieter, more relaxed side of Oahu. Our Oahu North Shore Tour will take you to see the most important and beautiful sights on Oahu’s North Shore. Stop to view Chinaman’s hat, an Island resembling a Chinese coolie’s hat. As you go on your tour, you will get to see much of the farmland that still exists on Oahu. This includes much of the aquaculture on Oahu. This is the main reason that the best garlic shrimp stands are on the North Shore. Cruise by the famous surfing beaches such as Waimea Bay on Oahu’s North Shore. If the conditions are right, you will see the massive waves breaking on the shore. Stop to view the famous Sunset Beach renowned as one of the most famous beaches for surfing in the world. Cruise through scenic Haleiwa Town, a long-time mecca for surfers heading to the beaches nearby. Haleiwa still has some of the small-town vibe that much of Oahu has lost. Stop at the famous Dole Plantation. The Dole Plantation is Hawaii’s second most visited attraction and home of the famous Dole Whip ice cream. Once the center of Dole’s pineapple empire, many of the historic buildings remain. On the way back to Waikiki, you will be taken on a short drive-through tour of Downtown Honolulu. You get to see the famous golden statue of Hawaii’s legendary monarch, King Kamehameha the Great who united the Islands of Hawaii. View the famous Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace on American soil. See the historic Washington Place, the historic home of Hawaii’s Governors and the former residence of Hawaii’s last Queen. View the unique architecture of the Hawaii State Capitol building and the statue of Hawaii’s Saint Damion. We will also take you on a drive-through of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, also known as Punchbowl Cemetery, the final resting place of many U.S. service members from WWI to the present, along with the famous sculpture of Lady Columbia made well-known by appearing in both iterations of the TV series Hawaii Five-O.

King Kamehameha
The son of a chief on the Island of Hawaii, he would aspire to great things. Through various military campaigns, he would come to conquer every Hawaiian Island except Kauai. This Island would become part of the Kingdom through diplomacy. King Kamehameha utilized European weapons in his conquest of the Islands and established trade with Europeans who came to the Islands. In addition, he enacted a set of uniform laws and taxation system throughout the Kingdom. King Kamehameha passed away in 1819. In line with ancient Hawaiian customs, his burial place is unknown.
Chinaman’s Hat
As you drive by Kaneohe Bay, you will notice a conical Islet Many of the locals know it as Chinaman’s Hat. Looking at it, it is clear how it got that name. The Hawaiian name for it is Mokolii. Mokolii is owned by the City and County of Honolulu and is managed by State and Federal wildlife services. The islet is a nesting place for seabirds and is home to many species of native plants, some of which are critically endangered. Once part of the main Island, until erosion separated it, the Islet is accessible by kayak, boat, swimming, or wading at low tide. One can visit the Islet during daylight hours.
Sunset Beach
If you try to imagine surfing in Hawaii, you may think of the enormous waves breaking on the shore and the surfer who attempt to ride them. This place does not just exist in your imagination, it is real and it has a name, Sunset Beach. Home of the Triple Crown of Surfing competition, Sunset Beach has massive waves breaking on its shore during the winter months. While it may be tempting to just run out and catch a wave, you have to be careful. The conditions at Sunset Beach can become quite dangerous owing to coral reefs near the shore. Lifeguards are present at the beach most of the time. Swimming is possible in some places, but care must be taken because of the strong surf.
Waimea Bay
Waimea Bay is one of the Famous Surfing beaches alongside Sunset Beach and the Banzai Pipeline. It is regarded as one of the best beaches for big wave surfing in the world. Surfing competitions are held in Waimea Bay regularly. When conditions are right, the Eddie Aikau tournament is held there.
